Life for an immortal is hardly a care-free existence. Not only is it a constant and lonely journey to to see times and ages pass while others are born and die, it is a trial to test the limits of strength and will. For over 400 years, The Highlander, Duncan MacLeod, has struggled against the swords of other immortals in search of The Quickening: the destruction and abdication of another immortal's power. Achievable only by decapitation, The Quickening represents the only hope for continued existence as well as the only threat to the life of an immortal. When the blades are brandished, it's kill or be killed.
The Quickening Shockwave game pits you (the player) against immortals bent on achieving the Quickening at the expense of your head. Defeat your opponent and you will feel the Quickening and move to the next level and time period. Lose and you will cease to exist. Remember...there can be only one!
