Original Description:
Potato The Destroyer is a challenging minimalistic action platformer where you play as a potato hell-bent on making his minimalistic world even more minimal by defeating The Crystal Potato of Destiny, the true embodiment of non-minimalism.
This was made from scratch in two days for Ludum Dare 26. This is the post-competition version which includes an easier difficulty mode, a basic game introduction and a few other things.
This was my first time participating in Ludum Dare. Although I’m a little disappointed in myself for not fully embracing the theme (minimalism), I think this turned out to be a pretty cool game. I learned a lot about level design and what goals are and are not attainable in such a strict time period. I planned a lot more content but just couldn’t do it in time. Like, I had these desert tiles, this desert song and this enemy that all went unused.
