Original Description:
The Great Hall of the Austrian National Library is 77.7 meters long, 12.2 meters wide, and 19.6 meters high. The dome is oval in form; its perimeter extends 18 by 29.2 meters and it reaches an impressive total height of 29.2 metres. In the middle of the domed hall stands a life-sized statue of Austrian Emperor Karl VI. dressed as a Roman emperor.
The model of the Great Hall has about about 10000 polygons and is fully textured.
Tip: you may have to activate texturing manually in your VRML browser.
The 3D model was created as part of a joint project by the Institute for Computer Graphics (ICG) of Graz University of Technology using automatic reconstruction techniques from photographs. The original model has been used as the basis for a computer animation created at the Institute for Hypermedia Systems (IHM) of JOANNEUM RESEARCH and appeared on a CD-I about the Austrian National Library.
