Original Description:
Ok, all you armchair golfers out there.
Roll up your sleeves and grab your number 9 mouse,
because it's time to play . . .
BGA GOLF
But before you do, make sure you're running Netscape 2.0 or later. If you don't have Netscape, get it. You also need the Shockwave plug-in loaded into your browser, so if you don't have that, you'd better stop at Macromedia's Plug-In Center as well.
Got them? Good, let's go over the game before you get started.
Overview
Why haul your clubs all the way to the green when you've got a huge backyard that just calls to you? Grab your favorite putter and clear out the dead leaves, because you're golfing in suburbia.
Hitting the Ball
Hold your mouse down on the club until the golfer pulls it back into a swing. Then, while keeping your mouse down, play around with different distances and angles. The farther away from the club you are when you release the mouse, the harder you hit the ball.
Rules
Players are given 10 balls. 10 points are awarded for sinking a putt. But this is the BGA; we're so happy you can hit anything that, heck, we'll give you a couple points for hitting the dog or the duck. For extra points, try banking the ball off the tree or the duck before it goes in the hole. If you hit the doghouse at the right angle, it'll fly over to the wheelbarrow, knock the duck on the head, and drop into the hole for 100 points.
What Was That?!
Beware of the gremlin. He'll run in and swipe your ball when you least expect it. He's more likely to interfere if you're aiming directly for the hole. Trying bouncing it off the duck and/or the tree to avoid him.
That's about all you need to know. Have fun, and remember the BGA motto, "Bad but Proud."
