Picking up a dart by quickly tapping the mouse button seems to work best, if your click is too long it can be be mistaken for dragging the mouse, which will cause your dart to be thrown early.
Original Description:
Click play to start. Grab a dart from the case. Aim the dart with the mouse. Click and drag, then release the mouse button to throw. The computer will keep score.
