Project kuczkiLas explored the difference between the perceived and the experienced.
The whole experiment was also an excuse to explore the juxtaposition of my imagined world (inspired by a nearby forest) and local Kuczki village legends. The cat’s image belongs to the beautiful friend Conrad the Cat, who disappeared in the real kuczkiLas in 2010.
The project is multi-dimensional. On the surface, it records a walk through a forest from two perspectives — a cat’s and a human’s. However, if the viewers care to look deeper, they will find a project which plays with them, which encourages reflection as well as some philosophical dwelling. Some stops in kuczkiLas are naive, if not silly. Some, on the other hand, put forward questions of existence, the importance of inquiry as well as simple human reflection over life.
The design of the project has got a single most important assumption — it protests against a habit of flicking, skimming and scanning. To understand kuczkiLas, the viewers have to invest their time in the old-fashioned way.
All in all, welcome to kuczkiLas and be prepared for a rather lengthy walk. To experience the forest fully, you cannot be in any haste.

Projekt kuczkiLas jest próbą zgłębienia różnicy między tym co jest postrzegane, a tym co jest doświadczane. Projekt jest również eksperymentem, w którym próbuję zestawić swój wymyślony świat (zainspirowany pobliskim lasem) z lokalnymi legendami. Koci bohater kuczkiLasu to Kot Conrad, mój towarzysz i przyjaciel, który zaginą w prawdziwym kuczkiLesie w 2010.
kuczkiLas jest wielowymiarowy. W warstwie zewnętrznej, jest formą zapisu spaceru po lesie oglądanego z dwóch różnych perspektyw – z perspektywy kota i człowieka.
